The one certain thing in business is the inevitability of continuous change. This extends everywhere: from the organizational structure, business models and product range through to marketing and personnel management.
But changes will not be effective unless supported by the right tools. The model was developed by Chris Anderson and he first referred to it as The Long Tail in the October 2004 issue of Wired. The idea is, to some extent, a contradiction of The Pareto Principle.
